Force nothing.!! Some GENTLY unscrew the crown. Others will pull out to set: 1, TIMW 2, DATE. THREE (back to normal -closed).

In the closed position The stop/start butons do precisely that on those SUB-DIALS. In the SET positions the start/reset buttons are used to ZERO those sub-dials (press & hold. Then individual clicks will move each hand to zero). Hope this helps!

The true second hand is the one you mentioned that is currently running (what is called the subdial hand). To use the chronograph hand, 1) Press the button at the 2:00 location to start timing. 2) Press the button at the 2:00 location to stop timing. 3) Press the button at the 4:00 position to reset the chronograph hand(s) to zero. To reset the chronograph hands to zero, set the crown to either click position one (usually date setting) or two (usually time setting), and use each button to test which subdial hand it will zero out. Usually it is the first crown click position, and pressing the 2:00 or 4:00 button to zero out.

Warning: Leaving the chronograph function running will drain your watch battery much faster than using the standard second hand, as it is a complication meant for the purpose of timing an activity or other event. If this does not zero your watch, you must either send it back to Michele, or visit your nearest Certified Master Horologist to assess the issue, as the movement may have a defect. Feb 25, 2011. If it's just that the hour is wrong, you need to set the time zone. Atomic clocks and watches have a 'zero' position. Your manual should tell you how to 'zero' the watch and what the time should be when it is zeroed. Each manufacturer is different. I have one that points to 3:00 and one that points to 12:00. If you zero your watch and it doesn't point to the right position, you will need to remove the movement from the case and manually move the hands to the zero position.

Believe Me I was worried only had the Seiko Sportura for a week now. My second dial for the stopwatch was re-setting to 5 seconds instead of zero.

The Solution is 1. Pull the Crown all the way out ( In the position you take the crown to set the time, second click ). To set the minute face of stop watch, keep pressing the top button untill it is zero. To set the second needle to zero keep pressing the bottom button untill it reaches zero or where you like it to re-set each time.

Depend on you. Once all neddles of stopwatch are at resting postions ( usually zero) secure the crown back to its normal postion. Test your stop watch, hopefully it will go back to zero when you press the reset button.
